Ryan graduated from the University of Kansas in Electrical Engineering and Steven’s Institute of Technology with a Masters in Systems Engineering. He also worked in Military Defense for Lockheed Martin after college in Minnesota. Ryan met his wife in Minnesota. As a third generation firefighter, father and grandfather retiring from KCMO Fire Department, Ryan began the fire service in Minnesota as a volunteer. Ryan ran one call and knew he was done with Engineering. Ryan and his wife moved back to where he grew up. Ryan was fortunate enough to be hired by his hometown, the Olathe Fire Department. Shortly after that, Ryan and his wife had two girls within two years. Currently he serves as a board member for the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System. Ryan looks forward to working with SOTF to support burn research and improve burn care in the state of Kansas and Kansas City Metro area.
