Founded by former Navy SEAL and Purple Heart Recipient, Ryan “Birdman” Parrott, Beyond the Burn Foundation, formerly Sons of the Flag, envisions world where every survivor is supported beyond the burn and empowered to move from injury to lifelong healing through access, community, and innovation.

Support is offered to approved applicants based on demonstrated need and is designed to remove critical barriers that can delay healing. Beyond the Burn Foundation helps cover urgent essentials such as transportation to medical appointments, temporary housing, utilities, food, and recovery-related supplies. This focused support stabilizes families at their most vulnerable so survivors can concentrate on recovery.

We provide funding for innovative research, Fellowships for doctors to further their training in treating burn survivors, and support for those impacted by a traumatic burn.
