DESCRIPTION:2023 Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Red Carpet Event!Stars & Stripes Luncheon and Red-Carpet Event! \nSons of the Flag is commemorating our “11-Year Anniversary”! We hope you will celebrate with us! \nThis year\, we are beyond honored to have Amy and Stephen Burgher\, and Pam and David Burgher\, Jr. as our event chairmen. \nWe are thrilled to present the 2023 Stars and Stripes Luncheon and Red-Carpet Event benefiting Sons of the Flag. For those of you that are already friends of Sons of the Flag\, you know that our organization was founded in 2012 by former Navy SEAL\, Ryan “Birdman” Parrott\, in response to learning of minimal advancements in burn care advancements since the Vietnam Era.  \nToday\, Sons of the Flag is revolutionizing burn care and quality of life for veterans\, first responders\, and families. Some of our programs include funding burn fellowships at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital\, a surgical program called Mission: Reconstruct Freedom\, capital funding for burn unit equipment\, fire prevention\, and direct burn survivor support. \nPlease mark your calendars for our annual luncheon to be held on Monday\, November 6 at Dallas Country Club.  \nThe Luncheon will take place on Monday\, November 6\, 2023\, at Dallas Country Club\, and we are excited to announce a very special keynote speaker. When we first began Sons of the Flag in 2012\, we could only dream of the advancements we have enabled in the field of burn care. We are also extremely honored to have one of our veteran burn survivors\, as the keynote speaker for our luncheon\, to explain in his own words\, the transformation he has enjoyed as a result of our burn care programs. \nTodd Hornbuckle had a brilliant career as an Air Force and Navy pilot\, and later became a Delta Airlines commercial pilot\, before a failed engine in 2016 forced an emergency landing in the Texas Hill Country with his daughter aboard. His daughter survived unscathed\, while Todd suffered severe\, life-altering burns.  \nIn 2019\, Sons of the Flag met Todd when he applied for assistance through our website. At the time\, Mr. Hornbuckle would only allow phone conversations\, as he was so disfigured and did not go out in public. Fast forward\, four years to 2023. Todd has now participated five times in our Mission: Reconstruct Freedom surgical program and is going to perform the keynote speech at Sons of the Flag’s largest annual fundraising event! The burn surgeons associated with the Sons of the Flag program\, were able to completely transform Todd Hornbuckle\, and he is going to speak about overcoming adversity\, working as part of the team\, and about his new lease on life thanks to this program! \nA Special Benefit included in most sponsorship levels are movie passes to the Red-Carpet Film Screening and Patron Party on that prior evening\, Sunday\, November 5\, at the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station.  \nThis year\, we will be screening the film\, Top Gun: Maverick. After the film is over\, Todd Hornbuckle\, along with special guest and graduate of the Navy’s elite Fighter Weapons School\, TOPGUN\, pilot\, Travis “Diesel” Allison\, will address the crowd for a Q&A session. \nWe truly appreciate our donors for making these Burn Survivor programs possible through their generous gifts. \nPlease see the information below for levels of sponsorship.
